To our friends and family,
As some of you know Claire suffered a severe leg injury on February 27th of this year. She fractured her tibia plateau causing her to receive surgery that left her with 8 screws and a plate in her leg, unable to walk for 10 weeks and unable to work for the last 3 months of the school year. Following the 10 weeks of the non weight bearing healing process, she started physical therapy 3 times a week for 8 more weeks.
Claire was finally able to start walking without a walker or cane the second week of July, but unfortunately that came to a halt on August 8th. It wasn’t until the next day or two that we found out she has a bad infection in her leg that caused her to go into emergency surgery once again to remove the hardware and clean it all out.
Claire remains in good spirits despite the circumstances. The infection did reach the bone, therefore she will now have to go through 6 weeks of at home IV Antibiotic Infusions and likely more physical therapy. Please consider sharing or donating. We sincerely appreciate your love and support.
