Clair Rasmussen - Scholarship Fund

Welcome! This college scholarship is being established in honor of my dad, Clair Rasmussen, who passed away in July 2015 from heart complications associated with Type 1 Diabetes. He was a lifelong education devotee; there is no better way to continue his legacy than through a scholarship for a Montana college student.

Clair served as the Secretary for "The Clev" for 15 years. At his Memorial Service, all donations were given to “The Clev” in his honor. The student who receives this scholarship will participate in "The Clev" Bob Cleverley annual 8-Man All-Star Football Game in Butte, MT.

Words can't describe what is being felt throughout this process. This scholarship is how I am making peace with our loss. Clair was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1970. He never felt sorry for himself and always pushed his physical and mental abilities, regardless of what multiple doctors told him throughout his life. He had a love of running, hiking, all sports and being outdoors. Over the years, a majority of those abilities were restricted, but he remained actively involved with students and coaching until he passed.

July 10th would have been my parents' 40th anniversary. It is also the date of the Missoula Half Marathon. To honor my active, loving, always-pushing-it dad, I am pushing myself by running and raising $4,000 for this scholarship.
