TRIGGER WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES ARE BOTTOM OF STORY OF CLANCY AFTER FOUR HOURS OF SURGERY….
Hello, my name is Bre and my family and I wanted to start this go fund me for my cousins Reese, Michaela, and their sweet 10 month old baby Clancy. They will likely be facing tons of medical bill, lost wages and trauma support from what they have all been through. We were hoping this would help alleviate some of this tragedy. Here are Michaela’s accounts…
“Trigger warning: violent dog attack, stitches, graphic images.

I want to write this not only to let my family know what’s going on, but also because I’m hoping it will help me process what happened yesterday.

Tyson (my dog) attacked Clancy.

Before I go into detail, I want to preface this by saying that Tyson has NEVER shown previous signs of aggression or irritation towards Clancy. We bragged about how sweet and gentle Tyson was with him, so this is an incredible shock. Even with that, I was extremely diligent at home with Clancy and Tyson. They were never left alone, Clancy was never allowed to approach Tyson’s toys and if I had to walk away from Clancy, I would shut Tyson in my bedroom. I have seen these horror stories before and my new mom anxiety made me determined to keep my family out of this position. This just makes what happened a million times more horrifying for me personally.

Clancy and I were on the floor and he crawled over my lap and touched Tyson’s hip. Tyson has never reacted to this before , but this time he snapped his head around and grabbed Clancy’s face. I went into immediate action and started punching my dog in the head until I could get my hands into his mouth and pry him off of Clancy. I have to stop with the details here because I just can’t. Family services wants me in trauma therapy ASAP for the 7 minutes I experienced alone before the ambulance arrived. I just can’t talk or think about it without losing my mind.

Our family got extremely lucky that Tyson missed both of Clancy’s eyes and didn’t damage his neck. His breathing and crying is normal, and he can still breastfeed. He had multiple deep lacerations , lost a tooth and has a small mandible fracture. He was in surgery for 4 hours after his CT scan. We were discharged very late last night. Clancy has a long recovery ahead of him but we just thank god, the universe & our stars that he is alive and will heal. The surgeon did an amazing job and is certain he will recover wonderfully.

The humane society has put the decision of what to do with Tyson in my hands, and I have decided to euthanize him. I am so mad at him , I cannot think about Tyson without shaking furiously , but I think me saying goodbye and being with him as he leaves our earth will be pivotal for my heart finding peace. I hope I can find the strength to tell him I love him and to thank him for being my friend for these 8 years.

Reese and I are flooded with devastation, shame, anger, pain, sadness, anxiety and fear. I’m so glad we have each other.
My sister Shaylee is here with us, along with Reese’s parents and siblings. We have great support.

Please don’t be offended if I do not reach back out to anyone for quite some time. We thank you all for everything”
