WHO WE ARE
Clapping Hands Farm (clappinghandsfarm.com ) is an arts and nature camp serving children, families, and adults, located ¾ of a mile down a gravel road near Pittsboro, North Carolina. We are off the grid, with acres of woods and fields, a fairy forest, trails, a pond, hand-pumped well water, use-your-foot sinks, and solar power. We have created, and are committed to sustaining, a diverse camp community with racial balance, economic access, and inclusive of campers with special needs and challenges.
OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
Clapping Hands Farm has a simple camp fee policy: No One Turned Away. Over half of our campers come on scholarship every season. In 2020, 49% of our online workshop participants received scholarships.
We have started hosting in-person camps again this summer. Our camp sizes are less than half of their usual size, but our staff ratios and scholarship participant numbers have stayed the same. Thus, our camp income is significantly lower than previous years. Your donation this season will help our scholarship program continue to thrive despite our smaller numbers.
HOW TO DONATE:
--Donations made on this GoFundMe site have a small fee to cover credit card processing. There is a 2.9% standard processing fee plus $.30 for each donation, which we are happy to pay.
--You can also donate directly to Clapping Hands by sending a check to 3348 Alston Chapel Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312, and no fees will apply. Just let us know it's for this campaign and I can post it and it will add to our tally for our matching goals! Donations made on our GoFundMe platform are NOT tax deductible.
