WHO WE ARE

Clapping Hands Farm (clappinghandsfarm.com) is an arts and nature camp serving children, families, and adults, located ¾ of a mile down a gravel road near Pittsboro, North Carolina. We are off the grid, with acres of woods and fields, a fairy forest, trails, a pond, hand-pumped well water, use-your-foot sinks, and solar power. We have created, and are committed to sustaining, a diverse camp community with racial balance, economic access, and inclusive of campers with special needs and challenges.

OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Clapping Hands Farm has a simple camp fee policy: No One Turned Away. About half of our campers come on scholarship every season. In 2021, we provided over $35,000 in scholarship assistance to our campers.

For the past two years, running camp in person during the COVID pandemic, there have been extra challenges. We have limited the number of campers each week, which has reduced our camp fee income, and have had additional expenses as we set up individual work stations for social distancing, provided masks and rapid tests, etc. Your contribution this year will help with all of that!

WAYS TO DONATE

Donations made on this GoFundMe site have a small fee to cover credit card processing. There is a 2.9% standard processing fee plus $.30 for each donation, which we are happy to pay.*

You can also donate directly to us using Venmo, and no fees will apply on our end (please note that you can send funds for free through Venmo using a bank account, but they charge 3% to the sender for credit cards):*

OUR GOALS

This year, we are hoping to raise $25,000 with a goal of 250 donors!! Help us reach our goal and support our scholarship program!

If we raise money beyond covering our scholarships, we hope to make some helpful improvements at the farm (weather-proof storage at the shelter and the fig studio!) and are excited to develop a year-round series of workshops for staff that will bring our leadership to the next level!
