Clarendon way walk Malawi fundraiser

On the 8th of March 2025, I will be hiking 26 miles along the Clarendon Way marathon route in Hampshire. I am doing this sponsored walk to raise money for my expedition to Malawi in August 2025 to help refurbish a local school. I am going as part of a team of Explorer-Scouts from across Hampshire and, together with local Malawian Scouts, we will work on painting classrooms, building desks and bunk beds and fixing broken equipment. In the past, similar trips have been run which have had a huge impact on the pupils at these schools and the wider community.

Through the actions of previous trips, one of our partner schools has been able to significantly increase the number of female graduates, and the number of students they have had move on to further education. For example, a dormitory for female students was created which encouraged girls to remain in school for longer as they no longer had to travel for hours everyday to get to school. I am looking forward to being a part of this trip and to be part of supporting Hampshire Scouting and the Malawian Family of Scouts. All donations will go towards paying for my personal transport and food as well as general equipment and materials needed for the renovations.
