My mom had a beautiful life. Just like everyone she had her struggles, and her own demons that she dealt with in this life. My mother was born October 02, 1969 and passed away on May 27, 2022. Throughout her years on this earth she has dealt with the passing of her father- Harold Shaw, mother- Vauldie Landreth, sister- Anita Shaw, brother, Garrett Shaw, Ex Husband, John Cothran, fiance and love of her life- Craig Smith, father in law, Coy Smith, Niece- Miranda Finch, Brother in Law- Darryl Smith, and several life long friends which include but not limited to, Tommy "Two-Tone", Randy "Swifty". I know momma is finally with everyone she missed and loved in heaven. Throughout her journey, I always saw my momma help others even when she didn't have it herself. She was a fighter, and she would make sure that you knew she was present. She passed very suddenly at our home and was found deceased in her bed by my younger sister Hailey. Sadly the last thing my mother and I spoke about was what she wanted in the event she would pass, I guess momma knew her time was coming to an end on earth. My wish is for her wishes to come true. She had a lot of wishes and some of those wishes she never got, so I'm going to try my damnest to give her a proper burial. Momma didn't have any insurance, she was on disability, and it is just my sister- Hailey Smith and I left. I don't know how this works, and maybe I'm rambling, but we need help. We can't do this by ourselves and as much as momma has taught us to be strong, to never give up, treat people with kindness, work hard and you'll reap the benefits, she never taught us how to prepare for this. I'd call my momma for help, now, I can't call. I'm depending on my instincts and other people to help us along the way. We are asking for help to properly lay my momma to rest. Anything will help us. We haven't heard back from the medical Examinor yet, but we have planned on having her service at Salem funeral home and cremation located at S. Main st in Winston Salem followed by a burial at gardens of memories. She told me she wanted to be with her mom, sister, and momma. She did not want to be cremated. As soon as we recieve the call about her releasing, we will know a better date of her funeral. Thank you in advance. God bless you.
