Clark's Fight Leukemia Campaign
Donation protected
Dear friends and family- we wanted to inform you about our amazing brother, uncle, and friend to all, Clark Clifford who has just recently been diagnosed with leukemia.
Just a few weeks ago, Clark was experiencing abdominal pain with an abdominal hard mass. A CT scan showed he had an enlarged spleen. Further bloodwork determined that his white blood cell count was twice what is should be. The doctors immediately admittited him to the hospital knowing that this was most likely leukemia and ordered a bone marrow biospy. The biopsy confirmed that Clark has chronic myelogenous leukemia. Clark began chemotherapy treatment this past week and will last for several months.
Clark is a dad to a darling 11 year old girl who adores him. He has worked hard for her and their little family. Clark is one of the most selfless individuals you will ever know. In 1999, Clark unselfishly donated his kidney to our sister's son. His existing kidney has had to work extra hard and at this point only has about 65-70% function remaining. At some point, he may even need his own transplant.
A couple of years ago, Clark needed neck surgery which caused him to have to leave his job and go onto long term disability. He just began work again a few months ago when now yet again has been hit with this health setback. Because Clark works for an independent medical care company who does not offer insurance, Clark must pay for all medical expenses, hospital stays and medications (including chemo drugs) out of pocket. As you can imagine, these will be extremely costly. In addition, he may not always feel good enough to work consistently. We are hoping that as family and friends we can do our best to join together and support our amazing brother and friend.
Clark is dearly loved by all who know him. We pray for him to make a full recovery and are grateful for your support and prayers on his behalf. In addition, we humbly ask you to please consider lending your financial support to our brother through this campaign...nothing is too small or big. Your contribution will help pay for medical expenses, hospital stays and treatments. In so doing we will help to ease Clark's burden so he can focus on getting well and beating cancer!
