Claudia's Home Birth Fund

Hola!
My name is Claudia; I am an indigenous Chicana reconnecting to my roots. For my partner and I, part of the journey of decolonization has been reclaiming traditional ancestral birthing practices. We learned so much during my experience birthing Tepeyollotl. I'm happy to share that we are expecting our second baby in late November! For our second babe, we dream of welcoming them to this world through a sacred ceremony at home.
The medicalization of birth and ruthless capitalist practices have made it nearly impossible for working-class people of color to access prenatal and postpartum care outside of a hospital. Amid war on our bodily autonomy, I promised this semillita (seed) that I would fight for a chance to heal our lineage through home birth.
We come to you with a humble heart to ask for your support in keeping this promise. It takes a community to raise a child in their power. Although I have always known this and given of myself as part of community and family support systems, becoming a mother has made me appreciate this in a new light.
Any contribution toward our prayer is expansive and fills our hearts with gratitude. All funds will be used for prenatal care, midwife birth assistance, birthing kit, postpartum care, and doula services.
We thank you for your continued love and support in this challenging yet rewarding journey to raise all our children in their power.
With love and gratitude,
Claudia, Ernesto, Tepeyollotl & bebetú
