Will you join us in transforming the lives of first generation students?
Our team at Clayborne has created a comprehensive curriculum for our city's underresourced students. Through the Better Future Fellows Program, we will be able to make high school completion and colloge success possible for first generation students - but we need your help to make it a reality for students in our community.
Many students of Charlottesville lack the resources and mentorship to get to college and complete a degree.
Clayborne will be able to make high school completion and college success possible for first generation students.
The thoughtfully crafted two year program will give students resources from our Clayborne experts for weekly test prep, academic coaching, monthly workshops, college application support, and more.
Will you consider giving so that we are able to provide these resources to students in need?
Meet our first Better Future Fellow - Kibiriti
Kibiriti grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo, however had to flee to South Africa, because of persecution.
When Kibiriti came to America as a refugee, he had fallen behind academically due to missing years of school while he and his family sought safety and asylum.
When Kibriti began the program, our mission was to gain Kibiriti admission to college and see him flourish once he gets there, and we have seen just that.
Kibiriti pushed through his difficult circumstances to gain a footing to get ahead.
Through the resources he gained at Clayborne and thanks to generous supporters like yourself, Kibiriti was able to successfully finish high school and is now at PVCC working towards his dream of going into politics.
We want to help 4 first generation students have the opportunity to dream and provide them the tools necessary to reach those dreams, just like Kibiriti.
Will you help us do that?
Clayborne will match all donations 1-1, which means that every hour of tutoring you provide will multiply into two hours.
As a result of your generous contribution, $50 in donations provide two hours; $100 provides four hours; $500 provides twenty hours; and $1000 provides 40 hours, etc.
Every amount donated helps give students in our city a better future.
