WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
DONATIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
We urgently need help with financial donations. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain last week which flooded water under our flooring structures inside of our facility. We have had some issues with storm water getting inside our building for sometime and we have tried our best to maintain the accumulation of that water with drying up the structures to the best of our ability. This time our building couldn’t withstand the years of wear and tear. The damage and stress upon the shelter is inevitable. Water exceeded maximum capacity under our flooring in the main office, foyer, front lobby of our community cat room and bathroom…. It caused our floor to peek with tension of pressure and basically erupt and crack open exposing all of the concrete and elements in the air. we immediately had to move our cats to the back area of our community cat room… where they are confined to a smaller space and are under some stress as their environment is limited until we can get the shelter back to optimal and safe functioning levels. We have a pregnant mama cat that we have taken into our own home to monitor closely until this situation can be rectified. Our building is old and we do our very best with what we have to maintain it, but with that being said we really are asking for help with raising funds to help cover the financial burden this has caused on the humane society. We have removed and broken up the tile out of the main office ourselves and completely cleared out the main water drains in front of the building ourselves. We had to hire a company to come in and remove the rest of the floor, sand and clean the floor to remove all bacteria and debris. They have had to add some flowing pipe structures to the front and side dog yard that back up to our building to remove water away from our facility when it rains. They have installed concrete “sidewalks” to stop water from entering the building. We have a goal of 6,000 dollars to raise to cover the cost of all of these repairs. We have repainted the entire front of the shelter while the floor was drying out to be prepared to painted and seal. We have ran into a small issue of the paint adhering to the floor, so we made the company come out and resand the floor down and then clean everything completely once again so that we can have them repaint this week. Some of our shelter items were damaged in the process including our office desk and many vaccines and test have to be replaced as well which are additional cost outside the 6,000 dollar goal. Our shelter hours have been put on hold due to the conditions of the shelter and the remodeling. Our animals and staff are under distress as we are having to work around all of the chaos and try to maintain our daily duties and responsibilities. It cost us about 20,000 dollars a month to run our shelter and rescue these precious animals that we love so dearly. We were not anticipating this financial strain but we hope to be able to reach our goal and get back to operation sometime at the end of this coming week. No amount is too small to donate…. We greatly and thankfully appreciate any and everything that is donated. If you feel led to donate you may send money directly to the humane society or you can get on our website at www. Claytoncountyhumane.org and go under general funds and donate there… you can add in the tab that you are donating for the remodel. We also have a shirt that you can purchase that was made for us that is shared on our page … the shirt says “it’s raining cats and dogs”. Thank you to all of our supporters, adopters and community! We love our mission of rescue and we are so proud to service our community and save these beautiful animals. Thank you for your patience as our phones and hours of operation have been paused. You may email me at [email redacted] if you have any questions or concerns. Please share our post and help spread the word so that we can reach our goal!! Thank you kindly! ❤️‍⬛
