Clean City Cooperative Start-up

Donation protected

As many of you know, I returned from Nepal a month ago after finishing my job rebuilding schools after the 2015 earthquake for the past 15 months. While working in Kathmandu, I was horrified by the overwhelming pollution and trash mountains lining the streets, rivers, national parks, mountains, virtually everywhere. In September, I spent 2 weeks trekking to Everest Base Camp, where I was devastated to witness the amount of waste surrounding the villages and littering the trails. Today, there is no organized waste management system in Nepal, and communities are forced to deal with all the trash on their own.

Something has to be done!

I was fortunate enough to meet an inspiring community of 5,000, which is actively organizing to clean their environment.

Together, we have created a social enterprise, Clean City Cooperative, with the goal of empowering a community to embrace waste management.

Our vision is to help every community in Nepal build and operate its’ own waste management center, reducing the waste footprint by 90% and providing an economic vehicle for Nepalese people.

We are focused on creating viable jobs and empowering women by employing disadvantaged and marginalized women. By providing vocational training, we are helping women gain control of their lives and become financially independent members of society.

I would greatly appreciate if you would show your support for my cause and contribute any amount! I need your help in getting this plea out there to people that would care, so please spread far and wide. It’s a little village, but a big cause in my heart.

To be clear, this is not a 501c3.  Unlike a nonprofit, social entrepreneurship helps people help themselves. Our social business offers a hand up, not a hand out. While your donation is not tax deductible, I promise you that 100% of the funds raised will go directly towards start-up operations, as outlined on our financial page.  I will be leading the project at no cost to CCC.

As we all contemplate what we are thankful for this holiday season, I would be most grateful for your support in my endeavor in Nepal. Thank you!!!

Best Wishes,

Taylor
