Clemson Wrestling Season 2022-2023

Hi, I'm Isaac Manning and I am the president of Clemson Wrestling. This year we are creating a GoFundMe in order to help pay for our season. I created this because our funding has been cut to a level where we can hardly even pay for our storage, much less compete. In the past few years we have received less funding each year but this year we had our funds cut by 70%. 2 years ago we were kicked off of campus and had to find a place to practice. With these new circumstances, we have to pay for a storage unit for our mats and we use a lot more gas just to practice. Even though Clemson was completely uncooperative in my efforts to practice anywhere on campus, they still decided to cut our funding that year. And this year they decided to cut it again. As VP of Club sports at Clemson, club sports have never been so close to being cut altogether and we are just trying to survive. During our season we will travel to Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, and even Puerto Rico for Nationals! With the talent our team has I want to give them a chance to represent Clemson at Nationals. Last year we took 6 wrestlers to the conference tournament and ALL 6 QUALIFIED! At nationals, we had 2 All-Americans, both finishing in the top 5 of their weights. This year we are returning all but 1 wrestler and I know we have the ability to be at the top. Please consider donating or sharing if you are not able to donate. $12,000 is the total amount we wish to fundraise through our work on campus, and various other fundraisers in order to pay for our season. Clemson Wrestling is not only a wrestling team but a community and brotherhood that I do not want to see go extinct as it has changed my life, and the lives of my friends. I want others to have this opportunity as well, and I hope we get the chance to do so. Thank you
