Help CleoPassya play World Cup Derby in France!

Donation protected

Since starting my roller derby journey ten years ago, I have now achieved the ultimate goal of being chosen to represent Canada in the Junior Roller Derby World Cup. The World Cup will be played in Valence, France in July 2023. I am one of only 35 players selected from across the country. This amazing opportunity requires  me to travel first to Toronto, then to Calgary for team practices. Then the trip to France.
I am passionate about roller derby and have been playing with my current league, the Fraser Valley Fury, since 2014. I also dedicate a lot of my time to volunteering to support local roller derby by officiating, both off and on skates, as well as helping coach.
Roller derby is very much a volunteer-based sport. We do not have a lot of sponsors, or government funding to support us to achieve our goals. Travel, training, uniforms, and equipment add up quickly, especially as I am still a full-time high school student as well. I would therefore appreciate any and all donations to help support my fundraising for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Please read on if you wod like to know more about my Roller Derby journey.

It all started when an amazing family friend introduced me to derby,  I was barely 6 years old and totally hooked from the start. Roller Derby has been a giant part of my life since I began skating up and down the alley behind our house months before attending Vancouver Junior Rollerderby's very first practice in April of 2012.

After 2 seasons practicing with the Vancouver Jrs, I moved to the Chilliwack based team NWO Junior Rollerderby and have played for until I graduated to the full contact Honey Badgers. We recently had a name change and my current team is the Fraser Valley Fury, Ravens.

Travelling to play derby had always been a great experience and I have enjoyed many team trips including to Portland, Oregon, many trips to Seattle and to the amazing wooden track in Lynden, Washington.

I also have had the amazing experience to referee some super fun derby at Burning Man 2019, and finding the dusty sportcourt rollerdisco one evening was the coolest thing.

When I am not ripping it up on the track with my teammates, I also like to referee, NSO, and coach/help out wherever I can.
