Tuesday June 19th, 2018 started out as any normal day for the Schnieders Family but ended in tragedy and heartache.
The family sat down for dinner like they do every other night, however this was not like any other night! While eating dinner with his family, Clete Schnieders started choking. His wife Carrie tried desperately to get the food lodged in his throat out using the Heimlich Maneuver but was not successful. When paramedics arrived, they too tried to dislodge the steak but were unsuccessful. They transported Clete to the hospital where Carrie was told the grim outcome as Clete had been deprived of oxygen for at least 30 minutes and was put in the ICU on life support. Family and Friends rallied around Clete and prayed for a miracle. Two days later Thursday June 21, 2018 Clete was declared brain dead. Clete was a registered organ donor so Carrie made the decision to let him go and donate his organs, so he could save others lives.
Clete was the bread winner for the family. Carrie was a stay at home Mom and took their daughter, Sammie, who has Down Syndrome, to all of her many doctor and therapy appointments. In his passing, Clete leaves behind a wife and 3 kids - Trent (age 9), Cletey (age 4) and Samantha (age 2). Carrie is now expected to not only care for their family but now provide for them in addition to getting Sammie to all her appointments.
We are asking for any amount of donations to help Carrie with the financial burden she now faces so she can direct her focus to caring for her family and helping her children cope with the loss of a great father.
Clete will be missed by so many as he was a wonder father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He was truly an amazing man.
