Cleveland Starbucks Organizers Support Fund

hi! i’m maddie. i’m a shift lead and one of the union committee leaders at the West 6th starbucks store in Cleveland. we filed a petition to unionize on January 10 with a majority of partners wanting a union and since then, it’s been a wildfire in the best way! we are currently waiting to hear back about whether we’ll be allowed to vote on the union as a single store or whether the company will require a district-wide vote.

since we’re stuck in the waiting game for now, starbucks has massively cut hours and labor. we’re understaffed for the business we’re getting and the vast majority of us aren’t getting the hours we’re used to. full-time partners have seen their hours drop from 30-36 to 20-25 and part-time partners have been getting one or two shifts a week rather than their usual three or four.

because we’re not sure how long this will last (“at least until april”, the company has said), we’re setting up a community fund to support our partners if and when the time comes. thank you for reading, and always, solidarity ✊❤️
