Clifford Strong - Melanoma Warrior
Donation protected
Clifford Shelton has battled melanoma (cancer) for almost 11 years. He has undergone countless surgeries, clinical trials and treatments in an attempt to battle this ugly disease. Clifford had to quit working for Coal River Energy and go on disability several years ago due to this battle but his wife, Pauline, has been able to work during all this, only missing to go to important appointments. However, over the past several months, Clifford's health has declined and Pauline has needed to be at home with him and go to all appointments with him. Recently, Clifford and Pauline were told that hospice would need to be brought in at this point. His cancer has now spread to his bone marrow, lungs and lymph nodes; with tumors located on his spine, chest, hip and shoulder bones. He is weak and suffering from a lot of pain. Pauline is a teacher and since she has stayed home to be with Clifford over the last several months and has used all of her paid time off, she is no longer getting paid at all. FMLA is only available to keep her position but not to provide paid time off. She is also the health insurance carrier, so she needs to be able to pay for that important insurance. Pauline and Clifford are christians and excellent people that have found themselves in trying times and need some help/support from family, friends and the community. Every dollar counts, so even if you only have a $1 to spare, they are forever grateful. If you can't spare anything monetary, we ask you to please keep Clifford, Pauline, their son Warren and all family and friends in your prayers. Thank you!
