Clifford “Wayne” Hollis Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Samantha, and I'm reaching out to seek help for my father's recovery. A week ago, my dad, who works for himself, was admitted to Piedmont Hospital due to a severe blockage in his colon. This critical situation requires surgery, which means part of his colon will need to be removed. However, at the moment, he is not strong enough to undergo the procedure. To manage the situation, a Jackson-Pratt Surgical Drain and nasogastric tube have been put in place to control the infection.
We recently had to transfer him to AU, and we are now patiently waiting for his white blood count to return to a normal level before the surgery can be scheduled. Even after the operation, he will face a long road to recovery, and it's likely that he will need to use a colonoscopy bag for an extended period.
Adding to the challenges, my stepmother, who is also an essential part of our family, cannot work due to her own health issues resulting from a severe car accident last year. She is still trying to obtain disability benefits for herself, making the financial responsibility solely on my dad's shoulders.
As a self-employed individual, my dad's inability to work during his recovery period has put a significant strain on their finances. He is known for being tough as nails and never asking for help, always being the one to lend a hand to others. However, the circumstances have left him unable to work for the unforeseen future, creating a financial burden for our family.
Your support during this challenging time would mean the world to us. Any contributions you can make will help cover medical expenses, ongoing treatments, and provide much-needed support during my father's recovery. Together, we can make a substantial difference and lift this burden from our family.
Please share this campaign with your friends and family to help spread the word. Thank you for your kindness and generosity
With heartfelt gratitude,
Samantha and family
