It is with great sadness that I am creating this GoFundMe page. A dear friend of mine, Lynn Julian, lost her son unexpectedly on Sunday June 3rd. We who work in the mental health field put our heart and soul into saving the lives of other people. We strive to give so much of ourselves to help those who are sometimes unable to help themselves. Lynn is one of those great people put on this Earth to help other people, whether it was for a complete stranger or her family. Now, she and her family are in need.
Although this story ends in tragedy, there are two beautiful children who came from this man who he will live on through. Those two little boys are who we, as Lynn's friends and supporters, must rally around. They deserve all the best. And if nothing else, we need to lift them up in our thoughts and prayers. Prayers for strength and courage to go on, go on with a life without their hero, their father.
For those of you who know Lynn well, you know she loves her family so much. Her family is her world. And, although Clif spent a lot of his adult life in California, he spent the past couple of years living in TN, near Lynn, and she lit up when she was around those grandbabies. She was able to spend a great deal of time with Clif and his wife and children during this time which was a blessing.
I take this from Lynn's Facebook page,
"My friends, it is with a heavy heart that I let you know my son, Clifton, went to be with Jesus yesterday.
He was a funny, intelligent, loving, generous soul. If he had $1.00, and you needed it more, he would give it freely. He could have done stand up comedy. He was so inquisitive and loved to know how things worked. (Which was a pain in my butt when he was little and taking my appliances apart). He was a great dad and his sons both adore him. I watched them play robot warrior and wrestle and jump on the trampoline and watch movies while snuggling so often. And this warmed my heart. He loved his wife and wanted the best for her and this also warmed my heart.
But he was also a tortured soul. And even though he had made great strides toward facing down the demons recently, in the end I believe he thought he could not ultimately win the battle.
As for me, I know Jesus will get me through this. I appreciate your prayers, but I ask you to concentrate on praying for my daughter-in-law, grandsons and mother.
Love each other. Be kind to one another. If you need to set boundaries with someone, do it from a place of love. Perform random acts of kindness for strangers. Don’t rejoice in others’ misery. And if you know someone who is in emotional pain or struggling with addiction, TALK TO THEM. Offer to go with them to get help.
What is strong in darkness and secret will be rendered weak and can be overcome when brought to the light.
God bless each of you who reads this.
1 Peter 4:8"
Prayers to Lynn and family in this time of need.
Please consider donating. Not only is Lynn grieving the loss of her son, she is also having to pay out of pocket for any final expenses. Anything raised through this campaign will go to Lynn to help pay for any final expenses and to start an account for Clif's boys.
May God bless all of you.
