Climb for Young Minds: Three Peaks Challenge
Hi everyone,
We are Jack, James, Tom, and Sean, and we're taking on the Three Peaks Challenge on May 24th.
The challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in England, Scotland, and Wales, all within 24 hours. We'll be aiming to tackle Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon, all within one day.
We've chosen to support Young Minds. Young Minds is dedicated to supporting the mental health of young people across the UK.
Why Young Minds?
Mental health is close to our hearts. We've seen firsthand the impact it can have on individuals and communities. Young Minds provides vital support to young people, ensuring they have access to resources and services they need to cope with life's challenges.
By supporting Young Minds, we're investing in the future of our youth. We want to help break the stigma surrounding mental health and ensure every young person knows they are not alone. Together, we can make a difference.
The Challenge Ahead
Now, let's talk about the challenge itself. We'll be driving ourselves between the peaks, taking turns to rest as we navigate the roads. We have opted for the harder route, finishing with Ben Nevis, to push ourselves and test our endurance (although mainly for a well-earned night out in Glasgow).
It won't be easy. Sean has only ever climbed Denmark Hill; James has never been north of Romford. We'll be battling fatigue, unpredictable weather, and the physical demands of the climb. But we're ready to take it on because we believe in the cause.
How You Can Help
We're asking for your support to help us reach our fundraising goal for Young Minds. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Your generosity will directly contribute to providing vital mental health support to young people in need.
Here's how your donation could help:
- £10 could provide a young person with a call to the Young Minds helpline, giving them a safe space to talk about their feelings.
- £20 could help fund online resources for parents, offering guidance on how to support their child's mental health.
- £50 could support a workshop in a school, helping to educate young people about mental health and how to seek help when they need it most.
Join us on our Journey
Follow along as we prepare for the Three Peaks Challenge. We'll be sharing updates, training progress, and stories from the climb itself. Your support means a lot to us.
Thank you for considering a donation to Young Minds. Together, we can climb for a cause and make a positive impact on the lives of young people across the UK.
With gratitude,
Jack, James, Tom, and Sean
