Climb To Cure Diabetes
Donation protected
I am attempting to climb the "Seven Summits," the highest peaks on each of the seven continents. I have type 1 diabetes, and only two people with this condition have ever accomplished this feat, and only one while wearing an insulin pump like I will be. I will donate ALL the donations raised on this page to JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, an organization whose mission is "to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes and its complications through the support of research." I have already climbed the highest peaks in North and South America (Denali and Aconcagua, respectively), Europe (Mt. Elbrus), Antarctica (Mt. Vinson), and Africa (Mt. Kilimanjaro). And I just returned from my 6th and tallest peak, Mt. Everest in Asia! That leaves only one left!! Mt. Kosciuszko in Australia soon after! I will use this incredible adventure to prove to people with diabetes that they do not need to let their condition define them, and that they can do anything they set their mind to. I also look to this as an opportunity to support a cause vital to ensuring that in the future people will not need to suffer the hardships this disease imposes. Please help me make this possible. Thanks.
Climb on,
Taylor
