Climb for DAWGS

Hello all, I would like to invite and inspire you to donate to a non-profit called “The Dawg Squad.”




As many of you already know, I will be commencing my five-day trek up Mont Blanc June 23. After reflecting on why I am motivated to climb this summit, I realized that it’s a desire greater than myself. Everyone has mountains to climb—both literal and figurative—and the significance of each mountain is much greater than the summit. This climb isn’t about me; it’s about making an effort to inspire people to give back to the world. I can keep the exaltation of the climb and the joy of being there to and for myself, but what I can pay forward is a gift I can give to others. And that is more valuable to me than any summit in this world. 

I’ve always had an affinity for dogs and always hope to make some kind of difference in their world from my little corner of this earth. The Dawg Squad gives voices to animals who cannot advocate for themselves. And they do a very good job at it. For nearly 20 years, The Dawg Squad founder Carol Pearson has been rescuing dogs. Her conversations exude genuine love for animals, and her outstanding care is evident in her pups. With the help of other volunteers, they are able to rescue dogs from the streets, situations of abuse and neglect, and from city’s high-kill animal shelters threatening pets everywhere. The Dawg Squad provides medical attention, training, rehabilitation and foster homes until permanent adoptive homes are found. In most cases, dogs are fostered in loving volunteer homes while they await adoption. Every Saturday they host a pet adoption at Petco 5325 W Centinela Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90045.

Donations are used for food, training, supplies, spay/neuters, and most important, treating sick dogs. With your help, they can continue to give existing dogs the care they desperately need, and devote resources to saving more animals in the future. That is why, when I start my journey up Mont Blanc, I will be doing it on behalf of this marvelous organization and on behalf of the beloved animals they save. My journey will be documented via this page, so I would love for you to make any donation you are able to, in any amount, to The Dawg Squad so that we can continue to make a difference in the lives of man’s best friend.
