4100m Rope Climb
"I am incredibly humbled and grateful for the opportunity to have taken on this monumental rope-climbing challenge in support of The Farming Community Network. The physical and mental demands were immense, but the unwavering support I received from the farming community and beyond kept me going. Although I fell short of my initial goal, reaching a height of 4,100 meters and 20 hours of climbing a rope is an accomplishment that I am immensely proud of. It serves as a symbol of the resilience and determination that farmers embody everyday."
FCN are a voluntary organisation that works with farmers and families within the farming community to ensure they are looking after both their physical and mental wellbeing. In an industry where male suicide rate is 3 times the national average this has never been more important.
In a sample of 450 UK farmers aged under 40, 94% cited that poor mental health is now a significant problem and recognise the primary barrier to ‘opening up’ about their mental health was having no one to talk to.
Every penny will go towards FCN's ongoing effort to reduce the stigma around mental health within the farming industry and assist with the operation of their free support helpline which is open to those struggling 365 days of the year.
Any support will be greatly appreciated!
