Climbing Mount Snowdon Charity Challenge

Hi my name is Halima and I will be taking part in a sponsored mountain climb. I will be climbing Mount Snowdon on 20th August 2022. I am taking part in this challenge to raise funds for my Community Radio. Radio MAC 107.1FM is the first one and only Muslim Community Radio In Bradford. The Radio Station is very active within the community, working with members of all faiths and backgrounds - mainly the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Communities. The Radio station works hard to bring all faiths and communities together as one.

I am raising money for the Radio Station as a volunteer to help the radio continue running its day to day activities, from presenting daily radio shows, raising awareness for mental health, suicide and drugs and other important community issues.

The Radio Station solely relies on advertisements, sponsorships and donations to run on a day-day basis and without your support and the support of the community the Radio Station would not be able to run. The Radio Station is vital in keeping the community spirit alive within Bradford and supporting members of all communities. A key example of this is the Radio has built important partnerships with many local groups to help support the community and to keep Bradford's young people healthy and safe.

If you donate towards this cause then that shows you have a great sense of community and are a valuable member of the community you live in and it is people like you that help to unite everyone as one, regardless of faith, colour, culture or background. Being a part of a community can make us feel as though we are a part of something greater than ourselves. It can give us opportunities to connect with people, to reach for our goals, and makes us feel safe and secure. It's important for every person to have a sense of community and this is why we need to keep this Community Radio Station running 24/7, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!
