Climbing Scafell Pike to raise money for World Challenge

Donation protected
I am excited to share with you an incredible opportunity I’ve been given to embark on an adventure to Nepal with World Challenge. I know this expedition will be challenging, but also inspiring and life-changing, with the chance to explore the breath-taking landscapes of the Himalayas whilst giving back to the local community.

To raise money for my trip, I will be climbing Scafell Pike, the highest and one of the most challenging peaks in England. From Wasdale Head, I will make my ascent 900m to the peak and trek for (hopefully!) around 8 hours, before returning to Keswick. It will be a huge challenge that I have never faced before, and I would really appreciate your support.

By sponsoring me, you’re not just helping me explore another country; you’re contributing to creating a global citizen. Nepal presents me with an opportunity to be challenged and amazed by the beauties of the Himalayas, to push the limits of my inner strength and put me out of my comfort zone, whilst also contributing to the well-being of others.
If you would like further details about my trip, please read on.

Itinerary:
My exploration begins in the sacred city of Kathmandu to experience the rich Nepali culture and meet the ground team. Day 3 the community initiative begins, as we travel into rural Nepal to a local community who use dairy farming and beekeeping to support their families. I will live alongside the community for 2 days, learning about their day-to-day lives and joining in. From weaving baskets to learning traditional recipes, music, and dance, it will be an opportunity to connect and see the incredible lives they lead.

After a long journey back to Kathmandu, Day 6 offers the opportunity for exploration through Durbar Square, the ancient city of Bhaktapur, the Swayambhunath ‘monkey temple’ and Asan Tole. There is more to learn with every step before finishing the day with a visit to the Women’s social enterprise where I will experience Nepali tradition through cooking, crafts and language.

Pokhara awaits for days 7-8, with visits to the World Peace Pagoda built by Buddhist monks, the cascading Devi Falls and the sound of monks chanting from the Tibetan refugee camp of Tashi Palkhiel. Finally, this once in a lifetime trip comes to an end with the two-day Peace Pagoda trek. I will climb into the mountains above Pokhara, trekking past the lake and along the ridgeline to a deep forest. Though challenging, I know it will be an unforgettable experience that will push me to my limits.

I am very excited to be taking on this challenge and do hope you might consider sponsoring my fundraising efforts.

Raising funds:
To enable my trip, I must raise £1800 through my own activities. I would be incredibly grateful for your support and if you were able to share my campaign with friends and family. Any sponsors will have the opportunity to follow my journey online as I take on a challenge in the Lake District, followed by the trek across Nepal.

Thankyou.
