Climbing Snowdon in Memory of Tracy & Dave

Jenny, Eleanor & David, along with 27 family and friends are climbing Snowdon on the 6th of July 2024 in memory of brother and sister David Mills and Tracy Garwood (née Mills). We are trying to raise as much as possible through events, bake sales and sponsors for the climb.

Tracy passed away in July 2004 and this year marks the 20th anniversary. Tracy had a pure heart and a beautiful attitude towards life. She cherished her children and family and always sought to find the ‘good’ in people. Tracy was a midwife at Basildon hospital. Eleanor and David are climbing Snowdon to celebrate their late Mother.

David (better known as Dave to friends and family) passed away in September 2023. Dave was one of a kind - he made a positive impact on everyone he met. He embraced life and adventure - he climbed Snowdon with his daughter Jenny only a few years ago. Dave cared deeply for his family. His wife Lesley, daughters Jenny and Victoria and granddaughter Willow meant everything to him.

Dave and Tracy shared many things - their loving and positive nature, their care for their families, their kind hearts and importantly the love of a good cup of tea.

We kindly ask for any donation, no matter how big or small, that will be split equally between;

- The NSPCC (https://www.nspcc.org.uk): a charity close to Tracy’s heart;

- Basildon Maternity Unit (https://www.mse.nhs.uk/maternity-services/): where Tracy worked for so many years and where Eleanor and David were born;

- Cavan General Hospital Palliative Care Fund (https://www.cavanmonaghanpalliativecare.ie): where the brilliant nurses and doctors took such good care of Dave throughout his treatment and end of life care.
