Clinton Grant

Clinton Grant passed away 6th January 2024

He had been undergoing treatment for cancer for past two years. Unfortunately, the treatment was not sufficient to overcome the cancer. He is survived by his wife, Wendy, and his two children, William (16) and Oliver (12).

This campaign is to support Clinton's family.

My name is Marc and I have known Clinton for 23 years. We have worked together for all that time on the same teams, sharing the stories, ups and downs, office gossip and the general grind of work. When we were in the office, we would walk around the neighbourhood during our lunch hours, enjoying some fresh air before getting back to it. Talking, laughing and enjoying the general trivialities of not just work, but also life, politics, economics and science. For a period, we got into tennis and were playing on a weekly basis after work. Then our attention turned to badminton, and we spent months trying our hands with some really skilled folks on the team.

Since his diagnosis, we had long chats on the phone each week mostly to break up a lot of the treatment schedule. He would show me his beard that he was forced to grow due to the side effects of treatment drugs.

I want to leave you with is what he said to me a few days ago. “I am in hospital, the doctors have said I only have a few weeks and thanks for your support”. I cannot express how much this affected me. He is the one that had to go through the treatment with an unsuccessful outcome. His family is left without a husband, father and son. My support is only to lighten the mental burden, to take his thoughts away from the doctors, treatments, scans and results. That is the least that I could have done.
