Clonmel RFC 50:22 Holy Year Cross Challenge

Donation protected
Hi All,

We hope all is good with you and yours in these challenging times. Thanks for your interest in the Clonmel RFC 50:22 Challenge where Club President Ian Cooke is hiking to the Holy Year Cross 50 times over 22 weeks to raise much needed funds to help operate our club. As we approach the half-way point we are very pleased to advise that 25% of all of the funds raised will be donated to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA), more on this below.

Clonmel RFC is a community club with our Senior 1st XV Team competing in Division 2C of the Energia All Ireland League. Our 2nd XV Team compete in Munster 2nd Senior League, our U18s & U16s play in the Munster Leagues, whilst our U14s and our two U13s teams play in the East Munster Leagues & Cups. Our Warriors (U7 to U12) play in Blitz Tournaments across Munster and attend numerous Rugby Festivals each year. This is all supported by an army of Volunteers who give their time and energy on a weekly basis to ensure things run smoothly and all our players are coached to a high level.

It takes a huge effort from a large team of volunteers and sponsors to keep the show on the road and we are seeking your support to help with the funding of rugby in the club and to support our chosen charity IMNDA. We are hugely encouraged by the support to date and it certainly helps our President Ian stay committed when the weather is cold or wet – or both! You will find photos and video clips of each of the 50 hikes as they are completed by Ian on our website www.clonmelrfc.ie and across all of our club’s social media channels; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. We would be so grateful if you could kindly help us out with a kind donation of any sort to support Clonmel RFC with rugby in the community in Clonmel and our chosen charity IMNDA.

Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA):
As mentioned above we are also delighted to announce that 25% of the total figure raised will be donated to the IMNDA. This is the only organisation in Ireland providing care and support to families affected by Motor Neurone Disease; an incurable, progressive and terminal condition. Their core services include providing equipment on loan such as wheelchairs, beds, hoists and communication aids as and when they are needed. The IMNDA also funds home care hours and employs four nurses who visit families in their own home all over the country. This nursing service is funded entirely through donations and fundraising. Your support helps to provide independence, dignity and expert care to over 400 people in Ireland.

Thank you,
