Clothes for Orphanage project 'Mayan Children of the Light!

Hello! Thank you for landing here and for your consideration to support this beautiful mission! My name is Zarina, and over the past two years, I've had the privilege and honor to spend over four months in Guatemala exploring my deep passion for the Mayan culture, sacred ceremonies, and ancient healing practices. During the months spent around Lake Atitlán, it was inevitable to fall in love with my dear friend, a pillar of the community named Pablo Culum.

Pablo is a humble medicine man, an artist, and a light in this world. He works in the community selling traditional items and handmade instruments like drums and rattles, using all of his profits to fund his organization that was founded 15 years ago called Niños Chuitinamit Luz "Mayan Children of the Light". This project is currently supporting 46 orphaned children in his town of San Pablo La Laguna in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.

Pablo works to provide them with food, clothing, and shelter, placing them with single mothers in the village who also need financial support in order to provide for their children. Pablo prioritizes art as a form of expression for the children and makes sure to gather everyone together for a simple family meal three times a week on his balcony.

Last year, with the amazing support of so many earth angels, we were able to reach our goal of over $2,000, which allowed each child to receive a brand new pair of shoes! They were so grateful and excited for the kindness and generosity that they received. Most importantly, they are learning that they matter even to those they have never met and that people from all over the world care about their futures! What a gift to give a child.

This fall, my parents and I got to spend a fun afternoon with the kids, sharing stories, silly games, and a few songs! Their spirits are truly bright, their strength and heart unparalleled. I am honored to share their story in hopes that we can come together to shower them with even more love this year.

This holiday season, I am calling my collective communities in to help us provide these amazing children with fresh clothes! Clothing and shoes are the most pressing need for these little ones!
