Support Clydach Wasps football club -Welsh 3 peaks

Hi my name is Ben Sherman and I’m fundraising for clydach wasps football club by walking the Welsh 3 peaks on the 20th of July. For people who don’t know me I’m very passionate about football and especially my local side (Clydach Wasps) who are situated in Clydach South in a very small village with a population of less than 2,000. The club has been run by volunteers for years and two years ago I became a member of the Committee and very recently became treasurer of the football club. This club is a non-profit organisation and we aim to keep improving our facilities to gain more interest from within the village and outside, whether it be from young kids all the way up through to adults. To do this and keep the club afloat, whilst also trying to improve facilities is very challenging but events that we put on such as this Welsh 3 peaks walk is what helps the club to get sufficient funding for the teams to enter leagues, cups and also as mentioned previously improve facilities. Improving facilities isn’t just solely for the football club, as it has an impact on the public too, the football club has the responsibility of looking after the grounds on the playing field and the surrounding area around the pitch. This is kept clean, tidy and well maintained for the public’s use too. It is very important in my eyes to help improve facilities as the football club and the village hall are the main hub for this little village and usually partner up to help one another to put on events, look to get the locals out together and create a real sense of community.
