My name is Patricie and I spend a big chunk of my life in pain.

My story:
It was a hot summer day in Whistler, Canada. We were sleeping in our minivan, near the bike park, to get on that sick lift pretty early and shred some trails.
As I opened my eyes, the race has begun. I was running for my life to the public washroom, to simply pee. But as I ran, the blood got running down my legs, a few little waterfalls down to my ankles right into my shoes, through the pad and my soft pyjamas. My lower belly was cramping as someone would stab me, and the pain went into my tights, yet I was sprinting into the stall, leaving blood stains on tiles - as my slippers were squishy from the blood.
When I changed my underwear and put on a new pad, I started to clean the mess and myself. As I cried, a lot of strange women started helping me, feeling bad for me.
I wasn’t even embarrassed, I just wanted to deal with the situation and leave.
As I walked back, in the early, busy morning, through the Olympic park, towards our van with my shorts covered in blood, ignoring tourists watching me, completely exhausted, holding my bloody underwear and pads.
It hit me.
I won’t be better, only worse. This is just the beginning.
My life is turning only around my pain and my cycle.
There is no cure.
I’m also getting serious migraines from this.
No one knows why this is happening to me, to women.
Do I want to live like this?
Do I want to be planning my whole life around the pain?

I’m talking about endometriosis.
The silent monster hurting millions of women around the whole world.
It is not making only the periods much more painful, we get agonizing cramps during the ovulation too. And we are heavily bleeding.
We are in pain when we need to pee for a longer time and holding it.
Or when we lift something heavy, or if we try to sexually connect with our partners.
Some of us get migraines and a lot of skin breakouts, we experience hair loss, and mood changes and we are constantly bloated and uncomfortable.

I’m in pain most of the month. There are only a few days I don’t need to take any painkillers.
Even though I had surgery in 2021, it came back after just a couple of months and I feel like I’m back where I started.

Since my surgery, I’ve seen 3 specialists, out of 12 in my Endo carrier, asking for help.
All of them were quite dismissive and denied my condition, for them it wasn’t possible that it came back so quickly after the surgery. One doctor said it’s all in my head.
All of them suggested that I should go back to birth control, take some estrogen-lowering drugs, get another surgery or get an IUD. They told me to change my diet, do more yoga, and stop working too much on my feet. Been there, done that. One of them was pushing me to get a rod - even though there is no research or a fact that this is helping to manage endometriosis symptoms.

Over 10+ years of living in pain, I’ve tried everything there is.
Nothing ever worked for me. I’ve always thought there has to be something else.
There has to be another way.

NEW Hope on the Horizon:

Totally out of nowhere, my friend connected me with a doctor/scientist residing in Europe, who is treating and helping people with chronic pain. Who is accepting only 6 patients a year.
I managed to get an interview with him. After I presented my case to him, he accepted me as his patient. During the call, he said he can get me healthy without any surgeries. Whaaaat?!

For the first time, there was someone, who answered my calling for help. We got working together to find out what is behind endometriosis in my body. He explained that everyone has different roots and different causes. Behind those symptoms are serious problems, which were treated only with a “bandaid” to silence the pain but not cure the issue. We did thorough blood work (that one they make before you get a transplant, done in the Czech Republic's private lab), stool and vaginal tests (done in Germany's private labs).
We found out why my body is not able to keep the tissue, where is supposed to be - on my uterus - not around my bowels. There are multiple problems and they can be solved.
There is a way how to get pain-free and most importantly - healthy.
It’ll cost some time and money.

The treatment is financially challenging. I’ve spent all of my savings already, on flight tickets and all the tests, and the beginning of my treatment ($20k+ already).
I need to pay for the medicine $3k CAD every month, and every six-month thorough blood work - $7k CAD. To check on progress. The projection for this treatment is up to 2 years. All of this is out of my pocket. It could be less or more time, since our bodies are different, all of us are healing differently.

Those figures are astronomical for me as a simple coffee roaster with no significant income.
With no certain income, no credit history, (I’m a new Canadian) there is no option to get a loan from the bank. I’m a hustler - an immigrant with zero English I had to work super hard and overcome big hurdles, to get where I am today, so if I say I’ve exhausted every option there is - I’m telling the truth.

It is difficult to ask strangers for help, but I have no other option.
My life could change, finally, in my 30’s I could simply be - live life as is.
Without checking the calendar all the time, counting down the days to my period or ovulation, and making sure there is always an extra bottle of Naproxen nearby. I won’t have to miss out on any fun hikes and hangouts with my friends anymore. Life could be less depressing.

They say whatever you send out to the world, it will come back to you, right?
This is the moment.
From the bottom of my heart, I ask you to help me fund my medical bills.

Will you help me live my life to the fullest?
