CMCS loves CIMI!

Hi, my name is Haley Drecksage and I am a Middle School Science teacher in Pawleys Island, SC. Last Spring, a couple of teachers and I brought a small group of students out to California to visit the Catalina Island Marine Institute; an incredible experiential education facility whose mission is to provide all children with a positive ocean experience. Here students are allowed to explore the world of marine science through hands-on learning experiences led by the exceptional on-site CIMI staff. Students on this trip will transcend their limits both physically and intellectually, as they are challenged to engage in activities such as snorkeling and kayaking along the coast of Catalina Island, observing teeny, tiny, plankton under a microscope, taking on an extensive terrestrial hike to learn about the flora and fauna on the island, and so much more. After the success of last year's trip, we knew we had to make this an annual event, hence why we are here and looking for your support! We are so incredibly excited to be taking on this adventure for a second year in a row and are beyond grateful for the support from our amazing community. We thank you to the moon and back!
