Support Debbie's Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Monday, April 21st, Debbie was at work just like any other Monday. After lunch, her any ol' Monday took a turn that no one would have expected it to take. She experienced a medical emergency that resulted in EMS transport from her office to the ED at Clinton Memorial Hospital where they intubated her, sent her to CT to get a better idea of what they working with, and got her stable enough to life-flight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Her CT scans showed that she had a brain bleed and had aspirated. Once she arrived at Miami Valley, their trauma team did an assessment and then consulted neurology. They did a repeat CT scan to confirm the bleed and then prepped her to get a drain inserted to help remove the unwanted pressure. Since Monday, she has spent her days and nights in the neuro ICU with continued supportive care by the drain and the ventilator. She has since contracted pneumonia, which has increased the difficulty of breathing on her own. Her medical team, mainly her nurses, have taken tremendous care of her and have worked hard around the clock to keep her stable and comfortable. Little by little we are seeing small signs of upward growth, but she is most definitely not out of the woods yet and will have a LONG road to recovery, both inpatient and outpatient. Debbie is a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (not including those she takes under her wings in her workplace), sister, and a smiling, caring face at East Clinton Medical Services. Her husband Tom is trying to manage everyday finances, expenses with traveling to the hospital and back, and soon will be managing her medical bills that will quickly trickle in over the coming weeks and months. If you find it in your heart to help with those bills that are already piling on, I know Debbie and her family would appreciate it immensely. If you are unable to donate, we understand and ask that you keep her and the family in your prayers.
