Help Manolo rebuild his home

Dear friends, our dear friend and colleague Manuel Jiménez Román (Manolo) several weeks ago suffered two devastating blows—first with the destruction of his hometown of Acapulco in Mexico as a result of Hurricane Otis. In addition to the destruction of his family’s home from the storm, for which insurance is impossible to get, his father passed away suddenly, leaving him to cover the costs of his father’s funeral while he and his neighbors dig themselves out of the rubble that is now Acapulco.

I’ve started this Go Fund Me page to allow those of you who have asked how you can help Manolo during this terrible time to make a contribution to offset some of this financial burden.

Manolo has not asked me for this. He is a proud husband and father who has always supported his family. But it’s difficult in Mexico’s economy. Even for highly-trained engineers.

I would ask you to open your hearts and do what you can to take some of the weight off Manolo’s shoulders.
