Katie's Cancer Fighting Fund

My name is Jane and I am raising money for my close friend, Katie.  She has been recently diagnosed with invasive and aggressive breast cancer.  There will be a long road of appointments and medical treatments.  This page is to help her out with all the extra medical expenses.

Katie had just turned 35 when she went in for her first mammogram.  She was expecting everything to be fine.  Even though she has a strong family history of it, she did not feel any lumps or anything to be concerned about.  Even after she received a call to have an ultrasound performend, then a biopsy she still felt at peace like everything would be ok.  After she had her biopsy she received the news that she had cancer and then found out that it is invasive and aggressive.  The doctors told her that there are two different types of cancer in one breast.  One spot is a grade 3 which is the worst and the other is a grade 2. Right now she needs more scans to determine if it has spread and how far.  A double mastectomy is one of the possible procedures she will need depending on how far it has spread.  Then the doctors will have to go from there to determine the treatments she will need beyond that.  

This cause means so much to me not only because she is a close friend, but also how many people are affected by cancer and her story could possibly save another woman's life.  I, along with Katie and her family, will be so thankful for any donations received.  Thank you.
