In April 2023 Coach Grant was diagnosed with stage 4 colon and liver cancer, treatable but not curable. Coach Grant dedicated over 30 years battling on the high school and college football field changing young men’s life’s teaching them not only about the game, but more importantly about how to be a better person. He did through teaching real life lessons. He was blessed when these young men earned football scholarships or went on after school to experience success in their personal lives. Over his coaching experience, he has helped 8 of his players reach the NFL. He came out to Blythe Ca. To semi- retire but was called back to the classroom and the football field. He became the Head Football Coach at Palo Verde and was able to bring life back to the Football program in Blythe by winning back to back CIF championships. Coach Grant has been for a year now battling his colon and liver cancer. He has had several surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments. This diagnosis force him to retire. He still has two more surgeries ahead of him. Coach is looking for financial support to assist him with his medical financial needs. His biggest dream is to go into remission long enough to get on the football field one more year .. truly his life passion. We will be finding out in May via Pet Scan if the chemo and radiation are working or not. As you can imagine the stress he has been under not knowing how long you have to live. Coach Grant last wish is to get on the football field. Let’s Rally around him and help him fight the biggest battle for his life.
