Coach Mason Homegoing

With profound sadness, the Mason family shares the death of Bathian A. Mason on December 7, 2022, after years of battling epilepsy. He fought the condition with the most amazing grace, bravery and strength. He lived each day with positivity and determination, not to let epilepsy keep him from doing the things he loved most.

Better known as “Coach Mason” by all, served the Grand Rapids Community as an athletic coach for over a decade with Grand Rapids Public Schools. As a GRPS graduate, Coach Mason coached scholar-athletes in volleyball, basketball, and track and field year-round. He had an amazing ability to inspire and motivate his players to be the best they could be on and off the court.

Due to his medical condition Coach Mason was unable to obtain employment. However, this condition did not stop him from what he loved most, which was coaching the youth of tomorrow. Please help lessen the burden and donate to assist the family in properly giving Coach Mason the homegoing celebration he deserves.
