Coach Mike Mathias Scholarship Fund

Our son, Michael Mathias, was killed in a car accident in Washington on Thursday, August 20th.  To the community of La Pine, Oregon, he was known as Coach Mike, JV Basketball Coach, and owner of the Coach's Restaurant that he had just opened in February, 2020.  Michael was 26 years old and running for Mayor of La Pine.  He loved coaching and mentoring the members of the basketball team and supporting the community of La Pine.  The members of his basketball team asked that a scholarship be started in his name that will benefit two students of La Pine High School each year that will be attending a Trade School or College.  We are asking for donations towards that scholarship to honor our son and his commitment to the community and neighbors he loved.  Donations can be made through Go Fund Me or directly at any Mid Oregon Credit Union Branch in the name of Coach Mike Donation Fund.
