Coach McAvoy has always been there for us for 25+ years! Now it is time for us to be there for him ;)
During hurricane Ian, our Hagerty HS and FKK coach's home went from seeing water piling outside his door to 1" of water inside to shoulder height in just a few minutes!! Coach had to evacuate in the middle of the night...
When I asked how bad it was a couple of weeks later, his answer was, "I don't even have a toothbrush!" Prying more details out of him (those who know him know that's not easy), it became apparent that it was worse than how he first described it.
When coach McAvoy was finally allowed to return to his home several days later, he found out that almost everything he owned had been lost to the hurricane :(
We are creating this fundraiser as a call to action to help speed up his recovery!
