I'm a dedicated Science Olympiad coach in the heart of New York City, and I need your help to empower our brilliant young minds. Unfortunately, red tape prevents me from revealing our school's name, but we're determined to excel.

As a coach, my mission is to provide our students with the best resources and opportunities for success. Science Olympiad is like the Olympics, but instead of sports, we tackle complex scientific challenges. Our students come from underserved communities, and we want to give them every opportunity to shine. However, we face financial limitations, as I'm a teacher with a modest salary.

I lead teams in chemistry, physics, and engineering events, each demanding an array of materials. Chemistry requires different substances, while physics and engineering events need materials for building intricate devices.

The nature of engineering demands flexibility and quick access to materials for revisions and modifications. Ordering through the school system is a tedious and time-consuming process. Moreover, many essential items can't even be procured through approved vendors, leaving us in a challenging situation. Compounding the issue, the reimbursement process for expenses is burdensome, and most of our vital purchases go unreimbursed. To ensure our students have everything they need, I've personally shouldered the financial burden on my credit card. Your support will primarily fund supplies for building devices, lab coats for our chemistry team, and team shirts for the entire squad. I maintain meticulous records of all purchases with receipts (link), ensuring that your contribution goes directly to the items we need.

Last year marked our debut in the top 5 at regionals, securing our first-ever state-level competition, which was truly a remarkable achievement. We're the underdog story, and we aim to surpass our achievements this year. We've expanded to three teams, with the determination to excel. Our students are not only exceptional but also passionate about science, which holds the key to solving the world's most pressing issues, including global warming.
