Our objectives:

 

Protect the rights of working families and artists living SoHo on NoHo, whether conforming or not, to remain in their homes without onerous fines and impossible and unnecessary conversion impositions

 

Ensure a feasible path to residential occupancy for anyone living in SoHo and NoHo

 

Support true and comprehensive affordable housing in SoHo and NoHo and the rest of New York City

 

Oppose New York City's blunt rezoning efforts, which will not lead to any affordable housing in SoHo and NoHo, but will lead to oversized commercial uses and private university dorms

Fundraising details:

Our plan is to withdraw funds as they come in to pay for legal expenses, as well as public outreach, government relations, and other campaign expenses such as website and email communications. Funds will be withdrawn into a dedicated bank account

Our initial fundraise will be used to pay the initial retainer for an attorney who will formulate a legal strategy for our cause

Amit Solomon is the volunteer organizer of the Coalition for Fairness in SoHo and NoHo. He is a longtime NoHo homeowner where he resides with his family.
