C'oar'nish Maid Solo Atlantic Row 2026

Donation protected
Hi my name is Claire Sharp and in 2026 I am going to compete in The World's Toughest Row, I am going to row Solo across the Atlantic while raising money and awareness of MND Association.

The campaign name is - C'oar'nish Maid

This GoFundMe page is to help start to raise the money needed to purchase the boat I am going to row across the Atlantic, once I have completed the race the boat will be sold on to the next crew and all the funds from the campaign will be given to MND.

The Challenge

In 2026 C'oar'nish Maid will take part in the premier event in ocean rowing.

Over 40 crews from around the world will compete in the annual race from La Gomera departing in December and rowing the 3000miles to Antigua.

I am proud to row for my chosen charity - MND Association while taking on this challenge I will be raising money and awareness in support for families fighting the disease. Over the last 5 years I have seen first hand what the disease can do but also what great support MND Association gives to all the family and friends affected.

In December 2026 I will start the row of 3,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean from La Gomera in the Canaries to Antigua in the Caribbean.

The race is made up of about 40 other boats and crews from around the world of which the crews are made up of solo, pairs, trios, fours and fives.

The other crews will row 2 hours on and 2 hours off for up to and over 6 weeks, as I take this challenge on solo my time schedule won't be able to be so fixed, and the row can be anywhere up to 85/90 days at sea.

The race is unassisted, so I must take all my food, make my own water and carry all the required kit and equipment, whilst battling 40ft waves, sleep deprivation and the open ocean environment.
