Raising money for The Recovery Group. (CIC)

I am looking to take on the biggest challenge of my life to raise money for The Recovery Group. In August I will be starting a 10 week running challenge. The first challenge will start the 1st August and is called the Calendar Club Challenge, this consists of running the same amount of miles as to what the date is; For example, when it is the 9th August I will run 9 miles and when it is the 31st August I will run 31 miles. This will mean that in August alone I will be running 496 miles. In September I will be running three Ultra Marathons, 1 x 50 miles, 1 x 65 miles and 1 x 80 miles. Then on the 11th October I will be attempting to run 110 miles across the country within 24 hours. This is something that is way outside my current ability and something that I have never even come anywhere near too. I will be running through the night and over the Pennines. 

After battling with drink, drugs and my mental health for years, in 2023 I decided to turn my life around…. This has proven to be the hardest but best decision that I have ever made. I am now in the best mental, emotional and physical health of my life and we want to help others in our community achieve the same with the support of The Recovery Group.

Members of the The Recovery Group will also be fundraising on this account with their own running and walking challenges, and in September 30 of them will be climbing Mount Snowdon. 

We have recently set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC) so that we can start to raise funds to add to our already successful program. We currently support 100+ people in our community every single week but we want to do more!!

The money raised will go towards set ups costs, operational costs, legal and compliance costs, training, marketing, planning courses, and so much more. All of your donations will help us change and save more lives.
