Coats for Ortiz Middle School students

Tax deductible

Hi!  We just had our first snow in Santa Fe yesterday, and it motivated me to get going on an important project - getting winter coats for the students who need them at Ortiz Middle School!

I’ve worked with Communities in Schools of NM for a while and am amazed by the great work they do to support kids with the resources they need to do well in school.  The CIS site coordinator at Ortiz recently put together a list of students there that will need warm coats this winter (i.e. their parents can’t afford to buy them and they are unlikely to receive them from other programs) - there are 60 KIDS THAT NEED COATS!

While CIS staff is working to find coats for the kids who need them at the other Santa Fe schools they serve, I am trying to raise funds to buy the coats for the students at Ortiz.  Fortunately, there are warm coats available at places like Costco and Target for $30.

If you are interested in helping, please consider donating towards a coat or two - the money collected through this gofundme will go directly to CIS so they can buy the needed coats.

Any questions, feel free to email me.  Many thanks!
