Coats for the Sheep!
Homestead Wool and Gift Farm is in need of coats for the sheep!
Why put a coat or a jacket on a sheep? Jackets protect the best part of a sheep\'s fleece, keeping out hay and debris. Which means cleaner, nicer fiber for you! We\'re humbly asking for donations to help out with this project.
We have 100 sheep, and coats are $20 each. This website and paypal take a total of 7.9% in fees, which is how we reached our total of $2200.
Our goal for the project is to have the money raised by September 1st, 2011 - then the coats will be here by October 1st so that they are ready to be \"dressed up\" when the sheep start getting hay this fall.

Homestead Wool and Gift Farm is a small, animal friendly family owned and operated business located on a small farm nestled in scenic Jordan Valley near Monroe, Wisconsin. The sheep enjoy roaming 25 acres of pasture--and being very spoiled and pampered!
We do not let our sheep have babies (or eat any of our animals!) because we could never bear to part with any of them! Many of the animals we have were in need of a home when they arrived here and they will all live out the rest of their lives with us:. Our "˜flock' is a very pampered bunch that spend their days galloping the acres of pastures surrounding their warm, snug ex-dairy barn.
The sheep offer
washed and unwashed wool, spinning fiber, dyed wool and handspun yarns that
will be a unique addition to your next project--happy sheep that live \"where
sheep may safely graze!\"
