Cobh Tidy Towns
Donation protected
So much done, a lot more to do to keep Cobh looking great.
Regardless of the limitations placed on the community during the current Covid-19 pandemic, activities of Cobh Tidy Towns continued. Building on the tremendous improvements which are visible to all, Cobh Tidy Towns managed to complete the Five Foot Way Project, will soon see the wire art sculptures installed at the Velvet House Cross Roundabout and the painting of a magnificent historic themed mural will begin at Carrigaloe. All year round our ongoing activities include painting, litter picking, provision and maintenance of flower displays, open space management including the Old Church Cemetery, environmental initiatives and creating a sense of pride in our town. In spite of the lockdown and restrictions our work continues in a safe and responsible manner.
This work does however come at a cost but the lockdown has meant that our recent important fundraising Flag days needed to be cancelled. Our Tidy Towns truck also broke down and needed a replacement engine. Our financial situation is precarious at present.
For this reason, we have decided to launch a GoFundMe initiative which will allow our supporters to show their appreciation for work completed and projects yet to be undertaken. All donations will be gratefully received and will allow us to continue our work to the autumn when our 2021 Discovering Cobh Calendar will be available.
We thank you in advance for your continued support and continue our community’s journey to being named Ireland’s Tidiest Town.
