Cochlear Implant Devices for Carson Brooks
Donation protected
If you’ve met Carson you have seen his big smile and the excitement and curiosity that this kid brings to everything! What you may not know about Carson is that at the age of 3 he experienced profound hearing loss eventually becoming deaf. In 2016, Carson underwent surgery for cochlear implants.
This video is the first moment he could hear after his devices were turned on.
He has since gone on to do many impressive things including success in school (Spencer Avenue French Immersion) and playing rep hockey (Orangeville Flyers U11AA) hockey.
What his parents Mike and Corina would not tell you about, is the costs they face trying to ensure that Carson has access to the cochlear devices that will allow him to continue to achieve so much with as few barriers as possible, and how little of these expenses are covered. Carson currently needs an upgrade (these devices need to be replaced every few years) and Mike and Corina are facing a large out of pocket expense of around $8000.
Please consider showing Carson and his family how proud we all are of all he has achieved and how much we are rooting for him by donating toward his needed devices. All money raised will be used towards his hearing needs.
