7v7 Coconut Grove Cowboys (4)Tournament Fundraiser

Coconut Grove is a small community that is the foundation of Miami believe it or not. This small community has faced changes that have made an impact on housing due to gentrification, economics due to the lack of career opportunities, and youth activities due to a lack of finances.
Despite these challenges, Coconut Grove Cowboys 7v7 division has maintained its ability to successfully operate. As an organization, The Coconut Grove Cowboys Flag and Touch Football are for ages 4-18. The oldest division of the program (touch) was created specifically for ages 15-18 with a focus of 7v7 tournament travel. Tournament travel gives our players the opportunity to visit college campuses. We want them to understand that football is a tool to get you to your next destination. We would also like for them to see that the world is much larger than Coconut Grove and so are their opportunities. Our expectation is that college recruiters will see our team and open a door for our players to participate in various college combines. Participating in these combines could possibly turn into athletic scholarships to various colleges.
Our young team has won a "Make a Play National Championship". At our most recent tournament, we went undefeated in pool play and our first lost was the game before the Championship! It was a bittersweet lost. The lost was bitter because it was a lost lol.....however it was sweet because our team is a very young varsity team and it showed that they are young but they do have the skills.
The funds that are being raised will assist us with travel cost, lodging expenses, one educational outing, and food. We will travel to most of our out of town destinations via 2 or 3 vans. Our top priority is the health and safety of our players and their families. At this time we feel this is our safest way to travel. Lodging may include multiple hotel rooms or home rentals. We desire our players to have an educational experience while traveling also. This is an experience, not just a game. Lastly, anyone that has ever seen a teenage boy have a meal understands that although these boys may not be "adults" as far as their age, they eat like grown men. We are averaging between $20-$25 per player, per day for meals.
We are doing this 7v7 Division 2021 fundraiser for the following tournaments:
02/20-02/21 Jacksonville, FL ($2,000)
03/20-03/21 Naples, FL ($2,000)
04/10-04/11 Atlanta, GA ($3,000)
04/17-04/18 Cocoa Beach, FL ($2,000)
Tax Exempt donations are welcome also. Yes, we are able to provide you with the appropriate paperwork as proof of your donation.
