Help Codi Walmsley's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brook
On Wednesday 27th November 2024 my nephew Codi was rushed to Emergency in Hamilton, Victoria after suffering a freak accident during work experience resulting in burns to his arms, hands, face, neck, and torso after a car radiator exploded on him. He was airlifted to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Victoria where he underwent immediate surgery to clean and dress his burns.
He is now in ICU at the Royal Children's Hospital in an induced coma with breathing support, where he will stay for around 7 days before his burns are reassessed, at this stage he may need skin grafts on his hands.
Due to the severity of the burns, the expected healing time is between 6-12 weeks, Codi will have his closest family with him during this time, with his father ceasing employment until codi is discharged.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help the family with the cost of travelling and accommodation.
Anybody that knows our beautiful Codi knows he has an absolute heart of gold, a beautiful personality and a real fire in his heart and is well respected and recognised in many communities and workplaces.
The family is still in shock, but remaining strong for our darling boy
We appreciate the love and support we have already received and thank you in advance for your kindness
