This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to write and putting son to rest for the final time is something a mother should never have to do. We are celebrating the love and life of our son, brother, family and incredible father, Cody Mikeal Carlson. I am Cody's mom, Heather and I would like to share with you a little something about my son through words and a few tears.
Cody left us to soon in life after only 36 years. His passing came on Friday, October 7, 2022 unexpectedly. He was comforted as he left by family who I am so grateful for. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Cody is a 2004 graduate of Farmington Hills Harrison where he attended High School.
After graduation Cody travel to Florida where he met, Jaime, the mother of his two beautiful children. Tristan is 10 and the spitting image of his father and shares the same love for sports and the outdoors. His daughter McKenna is 8 and shares the same loving and kind heart as her father.
Cody temporarily relocated back to Michigan where he recently started a business. After being in the food service industry for many years he made the career move with his cousin Zach installing gutter and leaf filters. Their goal was offer their services here and in Florida. Being a new small family run company there were no benefits or life insurance to help with unforeseen costs.
Cody leaves behind his two children Tristan and McKenna. His mom, Heather (De Fay) Harrison and step-dad, Joe. His father, Fritz Carlson and his wife, Jody. Cody also has three siblings, Kevin, Alexx and Kilian. He also has three half siblings, Josh, Nina and Madison and step-sister Lacey. Important in Cody's life are also his niece, Alex and nephews Syrus and Darrian.
Cody also leave many friends and family here but, will be greeted by many friends and family that also left us to early.
Thank you all for the kind messages of sympathy you have sent our family over the last several days. I appreciate all your kind words about my son and I especially love hearing your memories of him.
Many of you have asked how you can help our family during this difficult time. Instead of sending flowers, we ask that you donate to Cody's Memorial and the remaining funds will be placed into an account for his children. We appreciate your support. Thank you. We are showing Cody the love and letting him know, "WE GOT THIS".
We invite you to join friends and family of Cody's as we celebrate and share memories on Saturday, November 5. 2022. Family will be hosting the memorial at the American Legion Devereaux Post 141 in Howell, Michigan from 1:00pm - 5:00pm. The memorial will be only how Cody would want it. Good friends and loving family enjoying memories, talking sports in a casual setting. We are asking for you to wear your favorite sport team to show your support to the family.
